  1. Spice jet ransom attack - An attempted ransomware attack on domestic air carrier SpiceJet recently, hundreds of passengers were left stranded at various airports and inside aircraft. Flight operations took a hit for about four hours after flight departures slowed down.Many flyers complained of having waited for 6-8 hours.
  2. Over 3.6m records exposed in Dis-Chemcyber attack - Pharmacy retail giant Dis-Chem has become the latest South African organisation to fall victim to a cyber attack.The cyber incident emanating from its third-party service provider resulted in data of over 3.6 million South Africans being compromised.
  3. Hackers claim to have personal details of 22.5 mil Malaysians - Group of hackers have now claimed to have personal details of 22.5 million Malaysians stolen from the National Registration Department (NRD).A website known as Amanz reported that the details leaked are MyKad numbers, names, dates of birth, home addresses, gender, and registered phone numbers belonging to those born between 1940 and 2004.
  4. Hacker Steals Database of Hundreds of Verizon Employees - A hacker has obtained a database that includes the full name, email address, corporate ID numbers, and phone number of hundreds of Verizon employees.
  5. China hackers targeted power grids near Ladakh- Chinese hackers targeted power grids in north India over the last several months including this year, a US-based private cybersecurity firm has claimed. It said the seven targeted State Load Despatch Centres (SLDCs) were “in proximity to the disputed India-China border in Ladakh”.
